Discover how to set up, log in, troubleshoot, and recover your Ledger® Live account for safe and simple crypto management across devices.
Ledger® Live Wallet serves as the official management platform for Ledger® hardware wallets, enabling users to securely handle, monitor, and transact crypto assets. It acts as a unified hub where you can check your balances, receive or send funds, and install supported blockchain apps on your device. The software comes as both a Ledger Live Desktop version for PC and a Ledger Live App for mobile devices, ensuring accessibility wherever you are.
You can easily download Ledger® Live directly from the official Ledger® website. Choose between Windows, macOS, or Linux for desktops or install the mobile app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Once downloaded, open the app, connect your Ledger® device via USB or Bluetooth, and complete the initial setup. This will prepare your hardware wallet for secure usage.
Unlike conventional login systems, Ledger Live login does not require a username or password. Instead, the hardware device verifies every action using your personal PIN. This ensures maximum protection of private keys, which never leave your Ledger® hardware wallet. Each time you open Ledger® Live, connect your device, unlock it, and confirm transactions directly on the wallet screen.
Users attempting to “Ledger® Trezor” should note that these are two separate ecosystems. While both serve similar purposes, a Trezor wallet cannot connect directly with Ledger® Live. You may, however, restore the same crypto accounts using your recovery phrase—if compatible with BIP39 standards. Exercise extreme caution and never input your recovery phrase online.
Recovery for Ledger® wallets is managed solely through your 24-word recovery phrase. In case of a lost or damaged device, you can recover your entire wallet by entering this phrase into a new Ledger® hardware device. Since Ledger® does not operate on email-based login, a Ledger 2FA reset isn’t required. If you use 2FA with an exchange connected to Ledger®, reset it through that service’s support page.
Persistent issues like “Ledger Login not working” or “Error connecting Ledger® account” can be resolved by visiting the Ledger® Help Center. There, you’ll find official troubleshooting guides, firmware update tips, and safe ways to contact the Ledger® support team.
